Our accessible location offers a variety of accommodation options within easy walking distance. With five acres of landscaped grounds, you and your guests are afforded tranquillity and easy-access to the City and transport links. The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal is also on our doorstep, providing some truly unique photo opportunities.

1What are your venue hire prices?
Our halls can be hired for half days/full days and evenings both midweek and weekends. Please contact us for availability and pricing.
2How do I arrange a viewing?
We would love to hear from you and would be delighted to show you around the venue to bring to light what we can offer you. 3What is the venue capacity?
We have three indoor locations available for hire, as well as our glorious outdoor grounds. Our Lady Margaret Hall can host up to 60 people for a theatre or banquet set up. Our Henry Dene Hall can host up to 140 for a standing function or up t0 100 in theatre and banquet style. The grounds can be hired as a stand-alone hire or as part of the building hire and can comfortably accommodate audiences of 1500+ for outdoor events.
4Do you provide refreshments and catering?
Yes, to ensure the smooth running of your event, we can provide refreshments. We also have a range of recommended caterers who we work with to bring you a fantastic range of catering options. There are no set catering package so everything is bespoke and can be tailored made to your choice. Please get in touch to find out more.
5Do you have disabled access?
There is disabled access available in all areas of the venue, however the Lady Margaret Hall located on the 1st Floor of our Medieval Range has access by stairs or a platform lift. Due to the historic age of the building, the minimum door threshold is 705mm. Please contact us prior to your event if you have access requirements.
6Is there parking available?
Yes, we have a parking area within the grounds. Spaces are limited and subject to availability and are on a first come first served basis. Alternative nearby offsite parking is available at a cost. Please get in touch with us for more information.
7Can inflatables be used in your outdoor space?
Unfortunately not, the use of inflatables and bouncy castles are not permitted due to the archaeology in the grounds and possibility of high winds.
8Do you have a Bar?
We certainly do! We have a fully stocked and staffed bar. Please get in touch if you would like to see our drinks menu. Please note, our bar service is card only. All major credit/debit cards are accepted and tap and pay is available.
9Do you have accommodation on site?
We do not have accommodation on site, however our unique location offers a terrific variety of accommodation options within easy walking distance to our venue. The LV14 Sula Lightship is located on the beautiful wharf opposite the venue, which is an extraordinary unique stay, offering two luxurious cabins. We are also conveniently located within a 10 minute walk from The Judges Lodges, Travelodge Gloucester and Premier Inn Gloucester (Quayside).
10Do you offer BYO?
The venue is licensed for the sale of alcoholic drinks. The bar facilities are available on request at the time of booking. Our licence does not permit alcohol to be brought in to the premises by either the hirer or guests, for consumption or re-sale.
11Do you have kitchen facilities
The venue does not have kitchen facilities available.
12Can we provide our own catering?
To ensure the smooth running of your event we have a range of high quality caterers with an excellent reputation of delivering excellent food. We only allow our recommended caterers onsite. Please get in touch for a list of our caterers and contact details, they will be delighted to put together a catering proposal for you.
13Do you have Audio Visual facilities?
Yes all of our halls have a Audio PA system which is connected to via Bluetooth. Our Henry Dene Hall also hosts a Projector and Screen via HDMI. Our Lady Margaret Hall and Scudamore Room hosts a large LCD TV via HDMI.

Henry Dene Hall

The Henry Dene Hall is a Grade I listed Tudor brick range, lovingly restored with its magnificent brick walls and high ceilings. It is our largest and most flexible event space.

Lady Margaret Hall

The Lady Margaret Hall's beautiful timber-framed roof was recently restored using traditional techniques. With high ceilings, natural daylight, and full length medieval windows, the hall has a spacious yet historical feel.

Scudamore Room

The Scudamore Room is a bright and light meeting room located on the ground floor of our Medieval Range. Dating back to the 15th century, the space has been divided, and transformed into a purpose-built classroom and meeting space. Complete with LCD Screen, speakers, internet and Wi-Fi, it has all the facilities you require to deliver presentations, classes or seminars.

Outdoor Grounds

Planning a sporting event, festival, or looking for an outdoor performance space? Our five acres of grounds, large and level inner-court lawns, and beautifully restored medieval buildings are a perfect backdrop. The grounds can be hired as a stand-alone hire or as part of the building hire and can comfortably accommodate audiences of 500+ for outdoor events.

Photography, Film and Location Permissions

Llanthony Secunda grounds can be hired for both filming and photography. There are many areas within the grounds that will inspire filming sets and photographers with its stunning backdrops of medieval ruins, Victorian farmhouse, cattle pond, grassy lawns and veteran trees. Llanthony has a strong appeal for pre-wedding and engagement shoots, bridal magazines, blogs, books, fashion shows, modelling, ads and filming. 

Individuals who are taking footage on a mobile phone for their own use are exempt from having to apply for permission or pay a fee. However, for purposes where photography or film footage is being undertaken for commercial purposes  and involves the presence of a film crew, permission from the Trust will be required. All income generated from this goes towards caring for the restoration and maintenance of our listed buildings and conserve our important standing structures. 

Llanthony Secunda Priory formally opened on the 27th August 2018 following 19 months of restoration and conservation work.
