We are offering places on a free set of workshops to create artwork based on Llanthony's archaeology, to be featured in a special exhibition!
You'll get a unique chance to visit our friends at Cotswold Archaeology who helped with the discovery and storage of Llanthony's archaeological artefacts.
With the help of artist Jacqui Grange you will then create artwork based on these archaeological fragments. As Jacqui explains:
'Whether your interest is in history, drawing or writing, this project will have something for you. We will explore the fragments of objects left behind and imagine the stories of the people who used them. We will use drawing, photography and calligraphy to create a series of artworks which will be exhibited at Llanthony Secunda Priory at Easter 2020.
No experience necessary, and we will provide all materials.'
The workshops take place on the following Fridays: 17th January, 14th February, 13th March and 3rd of April. This is a programme where you develop your artwork over the 4 workshops, so ideally participants should attend all 4 dates.
Places are limited, so contact us to reserve your place: heritage.manager@llanthony
