Step inside the newly restored listed buildings of Llanthony Secunda Priory. Founded in 1136, the history of this former Augustinian priory is told throughout 5 acres of grounds. Marvel at the magnificent medieval timber roof and late 15th – early 16th century brickwork. A surprising survival of a monastic precinct at the heart of Gloucester Docks.
Guided walks: To celebrate Heritage Open Days, special guided walks are also scheduled to take place at 11.30am, and 2pm. Join an experienced Civic Trust guide as they explore the priory. Discover how Llanthony became one of the richest Augustinian houses in England, entertaining the court of Henry VII in 1500 and 1501.
